Radiesse Injections
in Carlsbad, California

When celebrities say they haven’t had any work done, what they usually mean is that they haven’t gone under the knife. There seems to be a gray area for certain cosmetic procedures like fillers. As long as you haven’t had any cosmetic or plastic surgery, it appears non-invasive procedures don’t count. The key to looking natural is to look like you haven’t had any work done. With little to no downtime and gradual results, no one should ever know— unless you tell them, of course. Give our office a call to schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss how Radiesse fillers can help you achieve a younger, natural look.

What Is Radiesse?

Radiesse is an FDA-approved, long-lasting biocompatible dermal filler. Composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) particles and suspended in an aqueous gel carrier, Radiesse helps smooth moderate to severe facial lines, wrinkles, and folds as well as correcting lost volume in the back of the hands. As we age, the production of collagen slows down, causing sagging skin. Once injected, Radiesse provides immediate improvement of volume and continues working to stimulate natural collagen. Over time, the gel metabolizes, and the body absorbs it, leaving only your natural collagen behind.

Cost of Radiesse

The dosage amount of Radiesse needed varies by patient, depending on how many injections you need to achieve the look you want. Due to these variable factors, it’s difficult to estimate the cost of Radiesse without a consultation. For this reason, it’s best to contact our office to schedule your free consultation to discuss your anti-aging goals to determine the number of Radiesse injections and areas to be treated so we can give you a better estimate of the cost.

Radiesse Injections FAQ

During your consultation, we need to discuss any medical conditions you might have and your beauty aspirations. Once we have had this conversation, we can move forward with filler treatments.

Filler treatments typically take about 10 minutes to perform. If you’re planning to correct multiple treatment areas or have an unusual case, you can expect the procedure to take more time.

After a clinician has thoroughly disinfected the treatment areas, Radiesse will be injected using a fine needle to improve facial characteristics. Your injectionist may gently massage your skin to ensure optimal smoothness.
Radiesse last somewhere around 6–9 months. Dermal fillers are formulated with different viscosities. As a rule of thumb, thicker formulas tend to last longer. You can extend the life of your filler treatment with mini procedures know as “top-up treatments.” These abbreviated sessions keep fillers looking fresh year-round.

Most individuals experience mild pain at most. Radiesse is FDA-approved to mix with an anesthetic known as lidocaine. In a clinical study, 90% of patients treated with Radiesse premixed with lidocaine reported a significant reduction in discomfort when injections were administered. We can apply a topical anesthetic to increase your procedure’s comfort further for our more pain-sensitive patients.

Radiesse products should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If its any consolation, pregnancy causes an uptick in hormones that encourage growth. These hormones will likely give your skin a more youthful, natural glow that will make all of your friends jealous. People with bleeding disorders should also avoid filler procedures.
As time progresses, your body naturally absorbs dermal filler material, resulting in volume loss. Top-up treatments are mini injections applied to the treated areas that restore your filler procedure’s full beauty. Radiesse can last for a few years with continued top-up treatments.

You should not apply makeup during the first 24 hours post-treatment. For patients experiencing some bruising, consider using a concealer with a yellow tint, or if you have some redness use a concealer with a greenish-yellow tone.

Radiesse patients can usually return to daily routines after treatment. Many of our patients schedule fillers over their lunch breaks and return to work after. You may experience a little tenderness, mild bruising, or possibly some post-procedure swelling. Gently icing the irritated area can help to decrease any discomfort.

The most common side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, and itching. These generally last for a short period and are mild. Be sure to discuss any potential side effects and treatment risks with your healthcare practitioner if they don’t go away.

Yes. There is nothing to keep you from enjoying a responsible drink after receiving filler injections.
You should plan on leaving our offices looking amazing. Some people can experience minor redness, swelling, or bruising. These symptoms should dissipate over the next week or two. Long-term, your body will absorb dermal filler material, lessening the original volume produced by Radiesse. We recommend top-up treatments to restore your procedure. Top-up mini sessions are typically scheduled 4 to 9 months post-procedure.
Radiesse is not only a filler treatment, but also a collagen stimulant. If you are interested in collagen boosters, you should consider other treatments like microneedling, PRP, fractional laser resurfacing, and IPL.

All of these high-quality fillers and work similarly to lift and add volume to aging skin. If you are unsure which filler is right for your case, please consult one of our injection specialists to choose the best fit for your aesthetic refinements.

The human body absorbs hyaluronic acid-based fillers over time. We recommend mini tune-ups called “top-up treatments”; these keep you looking younger year-round. Top-ups are usually scheduled 4–9 months down the road.

Radiesse filler is comprised of hyaluronic acid. This acid is naturally generated by your body to support structure, deliver nutrients, retain your skin’s moisture and smoothness.

You should not receive injectable fillers if you have a history of severe allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also avoid filler treatments.

Radiesse fillers are approved to add volume to smile lines, marionette lines, the corners of your mouth, pre-jowl folds, and chin wrinkles. For lip augmentation, consider Juvederm or Restylane products.
