What Is Microneedling
Getting to the point, what micro needling can do for you.
Microneedling is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses micro-fine needles to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. The tiny punctures produced by microneedling stimulate your skin’s natural healing process and boost collagen and elastin levels. Microneedling, occasianaly referred to as CIT or collagen induction therapy has become very popular amoungst clinicians and patients due to its level of safty and effectiveness.
A microneedling device is drawn across your skin’s surface, leaving behind thousands of tiny needle wounds. These wounds penetrate at different depths measured in millimeters. Depth is calculated based on skin type, the area being treated, and its severity. The process stimulates an immune response that boosts levels of collagen and elastin fibers resulting in smoother skin and a decrease in wrinkles, fine lines, and scars.
Microneedling treatments uses your body’s own healing process to improve the appearance of scarring, aging skin, texture, and pore size. It has very popular in the fight to reduce acne scarring and stretch marks.
A clinician will clean and disinfect the treatment area, followed by an application of numbing cream. After the anesthetic has kicked in, we will apply a nutrient-rich serum. A pen-like device will then be drawn across your face making hundreds of tiny punctures forcing nutrients that feed your skin’s healing process. Another specialized serum will be applied post-procedure to ensure proper healing and hydration.
Microneedling is a cost-effective procedure used to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, and aging skin. Treatments stimulate blood circulation, collagen production, and elastin fibers resulting in a noticeably improved complexion.
Yes. Microneedling treatments use safe, hypoallergenic needles to improve the appearance and texture of all skin types and colors with very low risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.
Yes! Deep scars may require more sessions, but you will very likely see a noticeable improvement.
Microneeding treatments can be safely spaced four to six weeks apart. The number of treatments required is determined based on the severity of skin damage.

Microneedling Procedure
Okay I want more youthful skin. What can I expect?
It is common for patients to experience some minor swelling and redness after treatment similar to a mild sunburn. This should subside over the next 24–48 hours. Some individuals have reported temporary bruising and pinpoint bleeding. Over the next 60 days your body’s healing process will kick into high gear resulting in noticeably smoother and more radiant skin.
As part of our micro-needling treatment, we apply an anesthetic (numbing cream) to the area of skin to be treated. This helps to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.
Each individual is unique and will likely require a treatment plan custom-tailored to their skin. We will discuss the cost associated with your skin treatment needs during your consultation.
The chances of an infection occurring after treatment is very low—the tiny wounds created by microneedling close quickly. Procedures are performed in a medical office under clinical conditions.
Depending on your skin care needs, it might very well be. If you have acne scarring, divets, or other texture issues, microneedling might be a godsend. Because you’re so young, we’d argue that it is the optimal time for this treatment. A younger person’s ability to heal is much greater than an individual just a few years older. Because microneedling uses your body’s healing response to improve skin texture, your results are likely to be much better than someone twice your age.
Though each person is different, you will likely begin to see results by week four but expect to continuously observe improvement over the next five months.
Your clinician will review our post-procedure guidelines after treatment. With that being said, you should not use any products containing AHAs (glycolic Acid), retinol, or acidic additives. Avoid using makeup in the first 48 hours or while inflammation is present. Opt for mineral-based cosmetics when possible. You should always protect your skin from damaging sun rays but be sure to do so during the course of treatment.
The severity of each person’s skin condition determines the number of treatments required. For moderate acne scarring, you can expect somewhere between 3–4 treatments. Scarring from burns or stretch marks may require five or more treatments. Antiaging skin treatments may only need one or two refresher treatments per year.

Microneedling Concerns
Answers to common concerns about Micro-needling treatments.
Generally, the medical community views microneedling as safe, but there are some remote but possible risks. Many people will have some temporary irritation post-procedure; symptoms include mild swelling, discomfort, redness, bruising, dryness, or flaky skin. More serious but uncommon side effects include infection, hyperpigmentation, and adverse reactions to topical treatment medications.
People suffering from ongoing skin infections, keloid scarring, unstable skin types, or active acne should not seek out microneedling treatments.
